- Why is PBI moving?
We have outgrown our current space. - Where is PBI moving?
PBI is moving just 5 minutes away from our current location to the beautiful Seattle waterfront. - Will PBI contact information remain the same?
Phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses will remain the same for all PBI employees. - What is the timeframe for when PBI will relocate?
The final phase of the relocation will primarily occur over an extended weekend from May 18, 2012 through May 20, 2012. - Is there a period of time that PBI will be out of operations?
No. PBI operations will remain in effect. Sample receipt will be continuous to one of the two facilities. Business communications will be for the most part in effect. There will be a period during May 18, 2012 where e-mail will be temporarily held from delivery while IT systems switchover. During this same time, incoming calls will be directed to a temporary line that will be answered by PBI staff. As far as testing services, there will be a period of transition as assays are requalified at the new facility; this process will start prior to PBI's official move date. The requalification schedule is prioritized according to the reporting needs of ongoing projects. - Will PBI notify sites of change in address and when is this expected to occur?
PBI will begin notifying sites of our change of address approximately one month prior to the move date. Applicable study documents will be revised and forwarded to sites (and clients) close to the move date. - When should samples be sent to the new location?
Shipments initiated beginning on May 18, 2012 should be sent to the new location. Major couriers will be provided with a forwarding address and PBI personnel will be staffed at the old location for the week following the move. - Who will be helping PBI physically relocate?
Instrument vendors will help with specific instruments. A moving company that has previous experience relocating laboratories will be used to relocate everything else.
How will samples be transported to the new location?
Samples will be kept in their current freezer and the freezers will be transported directly.
Extra freezers will be available in case of any issues at the time of move.- How will assays and equipment be handled to ensure a smooth transition to the new location?
Instruments and assays will be requalified at the new location to ensure continuity. - How can I be sure the assay still works?
Every assay will be requalified at the new location to ensure the assay still performs as expected. - When will the new location be available for audits?
There will be a blackout period for audits ~30 days before and after PBI's official move date.
