Biological or Clinical Significance:

The clinical utility of CNH assays for B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and the N-terminal part of the propeptide of BNP (NT-proBNP) has been confirmed for screening of heart disease, stratification of patients with congestive heart failure, detection of left ventricular systolic and/or diastolic dysfunction, and differential diagnosis of dyspnea.

Principle of Test Method:

The NT-proBNP assay is an automated electrochemiluminescent assay.
