Analyte: Vasclular Endothelial Growth Factor-R2
Specimen Type: Serum
Optimum Volume: 0.4 mL
|3 days||3 months||3 months|
Reporting units: pg/mL
Biological or Clinical Significance:
VEGF-R2 ( Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2) belongs to the class III subfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). PlGF binds and signals through VEGF R1/Flt-1 but not VEGF R2/Flk-1/KDR, while VEGF binds both but signals only through the angiogenic receptor, VEGF R2. PlGF and VEGF therefore compete for binding to VEGF R1. High PlGF inhibits VEGF/VEGF R1 binding and promotes VEGF/VEGF R2 mediated angiogenesis . It plays important roles in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and lymphangiogenesis.
Principle of Test Method:
The VEGF-R2 assay is a chemiluminescent immunoassay. Detection range 6.8 - 7000 MRD 1:5
