Biological or Clinical Significance:

Vascular endothelial growth factor D is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FIGF gene. It belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family and highly expressed in lung, heart, small intestine and fetal lung, and at lower levels in skeletal muscle, colon, and pancreas. VEGF-D regulates angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis during development and tumor growth, and are characterized by eight conserved cysteine residues that form a cysteine knot structure. It binds and activates VEGFR-2 (KDR/FLK1) and VEGFR-3 (FLT4) receptors.

Principle of Test Method:

The VEGF-D assay is a chemiluminescent immunoassay. Detection range 19.5 - 20000  MRD 1:2
