Biological or Clinical Significance:

Endoglin, also known as CD105, is a type I integral transmembrane glycoprotein and is an accessory receptor for transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) superfamily ligands. It is highly expressed on vascular endothelial cells, chondrocytes, and syncytiotrophoblasts of term placenta. It is also found on activated monocytes, mesenchymal stem cells and leukemic cells of lymphoid and myeloid lineages. It also plays important role in angiogenesis and tumor diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy.

Principle of Test Method:

The Endoglin assay is a chemiluminescent immunoassay. Assay Range: 4.9 - 5,000  pg/mL
